Report:
5 hikers set out from the center at 8:30. There were 5 cancellations and 4 no-shows. We arrived at the parking area at 10:30. Cooler temperatures, blue skies with few clouds and intriguing rock formations made this a very pleasant experience. The only challenges were “playing chicken” with a herd of cattle and navigating the path strewn with cow patties. We arrived at the lunch spot next to Pipeline Road at 12:30 having climbed the only hill of any consequence. After lunch, some cloud cover was a welcome respite. At 2:40 we were on our way, arriving at the center at 4:45. The total mileage on my gps was 4.96 although the advertised distance is 7.04.
