Trailhead Directions

Please sign up at Palo Duro as usual and also include your departure station. We will take the 9:44 AM train from the Montano Rail Runner station (or a station of your choice-downtown north only) in Albuquerque to the Santa Fe Railyards station, the final stop in Santa Fe (assemble at the kiosk). The ride is free for seniors on Wednesday. You must arrive at the Santa Fe Depot by 11:16 AM to participate in the hike.
For the return trip, the Rail Runner leaves the Santa Fe Depot at 4:15 PM. Arrival will be late — 5:39 PM at Montano Station. Or depart later on your own.

Actual Hike

From the Railyards station, go north on Montezuma until you reach the River Trail. Continue west on the River Trail to Frenchy’s Field. There is a restroom accessible from the road but it is up the hill about 500 yards from the current end point of the River Trail. Return to the Railyards area for lunch at the 2nd Street Brewery or late lunch on the Plaza. After lunch, return to Albuquerque on the 4:15 PM train from the Santa Fe Depot.
