Trailhead Directions
To the Alameda Open Space Parking Lot (porta-potties are located in the parking lot):
From the east side of the river take Alameda to the west from I-25, Jefferson, 4th, or 2nd and continue about 1/4 mile past Rio Grande Blvd. Park in the Open Space parking lot on the south side of Alameda just before you cross the river.
From the west side, take Coors/Corrales Rd. to Alameda (near the northeast corner of Cottonwood mall). Go east on Alameda across the river and park in the Open Space lot on the south side of Alameda.
Actual Hike
This is an easy one where you will meet old friends and make a few new ones. Hike in the bosque on the west side of the river and conduct a team scavenger’s hunt in the Calabacillas (yes, this is the correct spelling) Arroyo. After that, drive to Jason’s Deli, just west of Corrales Rd, for lunch/brunch.
