Trailhead Directions
From Albuquerque take I-40 to the Fort Wingate exit (Exit 33). Take route 66 west for 4 miles to SR-566 and turn right. Go over the railroad overpass and on to the Red Rocks Entrance on the left, about 0.6 miles, and go left. Follow the Pyramid Rock Trailhead signs to the dirt barrier and PARK (0.0 mi)
Actual Hike
From parking go northeast to the information board. At that point the trail goes up the west side of the canyon. The trail is marked by cairns and is well traveled. As you ascend enjoy views which open up in every direction. There will be a PASSTHROUGH (1.0 mi), continue on the trail which turns to the south and ascends to the VIEW (1.8 mi). After enjoying the vista return the way you came to parking.
